Hugh joined AHJ shortly after the formation of the Company in 1973, with responsibility for Non-Marine and Aviation reinsurance.  He took over the role of Chairman and CEO in 1996 and continues as Chairman today.

Hugh is:

• Chairman of AHJ Holdings and the trading company AHJ Ltd.
• Chairman of the Employee Benefit Trust and Pension Fund Trustees Ltd.
• Director of the AHJ Nordic Subsidiary, Nilsen Brokers AS

He is also an executive director of the Griffin Insurance Association Ltd., a mutual association that specialises in providing professional indemnity insurance to medium-sized brokers.

His mission is to ensure that AHJ maintains its first-class reputation as an independent Reinsurance Broker for the next decade and beyond.
