Central, Southern & East Europe

The Central, Southern and East Europe team is a newly established team within AHJ to bring expertise and experience within Europe on reinsurance requirements, within these markets, ranging from excess of loss to proportional treaties and binding authority business.

The team has gained a deep understanding of local market dynamics and requirements and is highly experienced across a range of disciplines having worked in the region for many years.

The team primarily deals with business emanating from Central Southern Europe and Eastern Europe (encompassing all areas of the former Soviet Union). It additionally covers business emanating from EEA/EU countries other than the Nordic countries.

Classes of business that the team has longstanding experience in include, but are not limited to:

• Property and Engineering

• Marine (All sub-classes including Hull, P&I, Cargo (including MDSU) and Marine Liabilities)

• Motor (MOD and MTPL)

• Energy (on and offshore)

• Cyber

• Surety

• Liabilities

• Retrocession

• Financial Lines

• Life and Personal Accident

In addition the Team has been involved in the successful creation of a number of Underwriting MGAs in the European arena, assisting with the provision of dedicated Insurance and Reinsurance capacity.

As the Team is territorially rather than class focused, where appropriate, we work very closely with the other specialist teams within AHJ to provide an excellent level of resource and additional breadth and depth of experience.
